Gustavo Gorriti started his journalistic career in the '80s covering terrorism in Peru, about what he later wrote the book Sendero: Historia de la guerra milenaria en el Perú (1990). He was co-director of the newspaper La República, has collaborated with international media such as The New York Times and Los Angeles Times, and currently directs the journalistic research unit IDL-Reporteros. He held an interesting debate on the importance of investigative journalism in the current situation and responded to the concerns of the attendees.
