Gerald Mercer holds a BA (Ed) and an MEd (Learning Resources, Technology) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. He is a retired school principal and school improvement specialist with a particular interest in the power of learning in programs whose foundations are rich in vibrant children’s literature. Gerald believes in providing appropriate, culturally sound resources for children. He has authored four and illustrated two children’s books and has co-authored a series of social studies textbooks for use in eastern Canadian elementary schools. Gerald is a father of three and a grandfather of three.
