Dr. Dorian Rogers is a go-to curator in the UAE in the genre of contemporary poetry. Most of his work revolves around lifting this art form to its rightful place as a respected component of Fine Art.

In 2018, he was chosen to curate a series of pop up performances at Louvre Abu Dhabi for the museum’s first anniversary celebrations. In 2016, he created and curated a participatory poetry concept called pARTicipate for Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s “Do Art! Do It Now!” In 2015, Dorian produced a gala event for the Ludacris Foundation which featured UAE based artists.

In 2012, he founded Rooftop Rhythms Poetry Open Mic Night, which has become the Middle East’s largest and longest running event of its kind.  He has been highlighted on both CNN and The BBC for his culture and arts events in the UAE. 

Dorian is also a respected poet and educator. In 2007, he won The National Poetry Slam. In 2005, he beat out over 100 poets to win the Southern Fried Poetry Slam, the nation’s largest regional poetry slam competition.  

Furthermore, Dr. Rogers holds active teacher certifications in The USA and The UAE and has over fifteen years of experience as a Language Arts educator. 

Dorian was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Albany, Georgia. He has lived in the UAE for eight years and is married with one daughter.
