Adela MUÑOZ-PAEZ

munoz-paez-adela Adela Muñoz Páez is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Seville. She has carried out much of her research work at synchrotron radiation sources in the UK, France, Japan and Spain. In addition, she has given seminars and lectures on women scientists at multiple universities and has published articles in various media. Since March 2016, she has been performing theatrical performances together with other female professors in which they play women scientists of the past. All these activities are collected on the website 'hypatia.es', which she created and maintains since 2008. In 2015 she was awarded the Meridiana Prize by the Andalusian Institute for Women of the Andalusian Regional Government, and in 2021 she was awarded the Gold Medal of the city of Seville, both awards for her professional and personal career. She is the author of the short essays La buena muerte (Debate, 2012), Sabias en la Segunda República (Flash, 2018) and Pura química (Flash, 2021), and of the books Historia del veneno (2012), Sabias (2017), Marie Curie (2020) y Brujas (2022).
