Rafael BLANCO

(Mexico City, 1961). General Manager of Mar Adentro bookshop. He studied Philosophy and Classical Literature at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He worked for many years in indigenous communities in the country (Nahuas from Zongolica, Mazatecos and Chinantecos from the North of Oaxaca, Otomies from the Mezquital Valley) doing research, and setting up and running radio stations that broadcast in indigenous languages, media outlets that are seen as development instruments for native communities. Six years ago, he settled in the port of Veracruz where he opened a bookshop that also seeks to be a living space for the exchange of ideas, reflection and art. In this same line, he has created a publishing house and is working on a number of video documentary projects.
