(London, 1946) British historian and author of bestsellers such as Stalingrad and Berlin – the Downfall 1945, which detail the WWII battles between the USSR and Nazi Germany, as well as a book on the Spanish Civil War. He studied at Winchester College and at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Beevor is president of the Society of Authors and has received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Kent. He is a member of the committee of the London Library and visiting professor at Birkbeck, University of London.
