She has given talks on Cuban literature at universities and institutions in Europe and Latin America, and has enjoyed scholarships in the US (a scholarship for writers and researchers: 'Special Collections' at the University of California) and France (Gilbert Brownstone Foundation). She currently lives in Havana, Cuba.
