Virginia McKenna’s long career as an actress includes ‘The Cruel Sea’, ‘Carve Her Name with Pride’ and ‘A Town Like Alice’, and the stage musical ‘The King and I’. Whilst Virginia still works occasionally as an actress, most recently the film ‘Love/Loss’ which will be released later this year, her priority is the plight of wild animals.

Her memoirs The Life in My Years’ (2009) were published to great acclaim, and she was voted one of the most inspirational people of all time in a recent Daily Telegraph poll.
