Actopan, Hidalgo, Mexico, 1970. He has published the children's books Esta es mi nahual! and Los ojos de Lía; and the novels Trabajos del reino, Señales que precederán al fin del mundo and La transmigración de los cuerpos. He recently published a compilation of some of his stories under the title Talud. He is also the founding editor of the literary magazine El Perro. His most recent book is El incendio de la mina El Bordo. He currently lives in New Orleans, where he teaches Hispanic American Literature at Tulane University.
