The renound documentary film director finished her studies with a postgrad in the UK and began work in the House of Commons before beggining her career in film making and broadcasting witht the investigative current affairs programme 'World of Action'. Amongst her most critically aclaimed projects is
The Death of Yugoslavia (1995), a six documentary series comissioned by BBC2 that received an array of awards (BAFTA, Broadcast Press Guild, US Emmy, Peabody) and was televised in over 50 countries. In 2010 she was awarded the Special Prize for Lifetime Achievement at the Orwell Prize 2010.
