(Mexico City, 1963) Journalist, social activist and writer. She is a specialist in research into gender violence, health, childhood and organized crime. Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. For 25 years she has worked in journalism as an editor, presenter, writer and columnist for radio and television as well as with a range of Mexican and international newspapers and magazines. She is a co-founder of the Mexican, Central American and Caribbean Journalists’ Network. She founded the centre for women and their children who have suffered from violence, the CIAM Cancún A.C, certified by the US National Training Center for Domestic and Sexual Violence. She is an expert in cybersecurity with respect to children and in training for interviewing young victims of violence. She is also a recognized specialist in journalism in situations of risk and a survivor of police torture for her professional work. She is the producer and presenter of the educational mini-series about ethics during childhood, SomosValientes.
