Originally from Venezuela and a naturalised Spaniard, Boris Izaquirre is passionate about film and literature. He began his career writing an atypical society column for El Nacional, articles in the press and scripts for Venezuelan television soaps. In a short time he has become a figure in Spanish and Latin American radio and television. El vuelo de los avestruces, Azul petróleo, 1965, Villa Diamante, shortlisted for Planeta Prize 2007, and Y de repente fue ayer, are some of his works. In 2011 Izaguirre published novel Dos Monstruos Juntos, which tells through the story of a couple living in London the collapse of the luxury society of the upper class. He has recently puclished Tiempo de Tormentas, a novel that is more than a autobiography where he tries to define his love-hate relationship with convulsive Venezuela.
