Valter Hugo MÃE

(Saurimo, Angola, 1971) has a degree in Law and Modern and Contemporary Portuguese Literature. He resides in Portgual and since 2010 his work has been edited by Alfaguara. Mãe has published A máquina de fazer espanhóis (2010), O apocalipse dos trabalhadores (2008), O remorso de Baltazar Serapião (Premio José Saramago, 2006) y O nosso reino (2004). His numerous poetry books are compiled in Contabilidade (2010). He has also written four illustrated books for young people: O Rosto (2010), As mais belas coisas do mundo (2010), A história do homem calado (2009) y A verdadeira história dos pássaros (2009). Valter Hugo writes the Imaginary Autobiographical section for the Portuguese Jornal de Letras.

In Spain, Mãe has published the novel El apocalipsis de los trabajadores (Alpha Decay, 1010) and the book of poems Folclore íntimo (Vaso Roto, 2011). He is also the vocalist for the musical group Governo and dedicates his free time to plastic arts.
