(Cuba, 1968) Living in Paris for more than two decades, he is a History of Art graduate from Havana University and studied Hispanoamerican Civilisation at the Sorbonne-Paris IV. He is the author of numerous books of essays, poetry and fiction. He works as ajournalist and contributes to several newspapers and magazines. He is a freelance translator for UNESCO and the United Nations. In recent years he has participated in a number of fairs, festivals and literary events in Europe and the United States. He has also curated exhibitions of Latin American art for different galleries and cultural spaces in France.
He won the Eugenio Florit PoetryPrize given by the Panamerican Cultural Centre in New York for his poetry book Edad de miedo al frío y otros poemas (2005) and the Vermeil Medal given by theSociety of Arts, Sciences and Letters in Paris (2010) for his cultural work inFrance. His latest work is La danse des millions published in 2012.
