Laszlo BAAN

(Budapest, Romania, 1961) Graduated in Economics and Science in his hometown, after holding high office in his City Hall, he becomes the Culture Commissioner of the Mayor's Cabinet. Between 1998 and 2004 he served as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Culture. He has been a member of the Academy of Sciences and has worked at the Institute of Social Sciences. He has been the Director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest since 2004, as well as of the National Gallery of Hungary since the unification of both cultural institutions in 2012. The exhibition From Botticelli to Titian, with 231,000 visitors, was the seventh most visited in the world in 2010.
