Guillermo DE OSMA WAKONIGG

de-osma-wakonigg-guillermo (Bilbao, 1953) Graduated in Art History (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), he starts his career in National Engraving until he moves to London, where he works as a consultant on Spanish painting of the nineteenth and twentieth century for Sotheby's. He publishes Mariano Fortuny. His life and work (Aurum Press, London, Rizzoli, New York) and he is the curator for the exhibition Mariano Fortuny. 1871-1949 (Musée des Tissus et des Arts Decoratifs, Lyon, 1980), which travels to Brighton, New York and Chicago. In 1982, as director of Sotheby's Latin American office in New York, he is responsible for the strategy and development for Latin America and is an active advisor to collectors, galleries and museums. Between 1983 and 1989, he is a partner of The Artis Group Ltd (New York), independent art consultancy from the seventeenth to the twentieth century.
