Maliyel BEVERIDO

beverido-maliyel (Mexico, 1964) Maliyel Beverido was born and grew up near Xalapa, Veracruz. She is a translator, poet and cultural educator. She studied French Language and Literature at Paris VII Denis Diderot University, and graduated in Artistic Education from the Universidad Veracruzana. In the sphere of literary production, she received a scholarship from the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes and another from the Instituto Veracruzano de la Cultura. She has published five books of poetry, including Cientos de veces, which features in the UV’s Ficción collection, and Decir, a book-object that includes 40 poems on 6 banners. She has translated authors such as Guillevic, Xavier de Maistre and Jules Renard. She coordinated the Xalapa Anthropology Museum’s exhibition spaces from 2005 to 2013 and currently runs the UV’s Casa del Lago arts forum.
