Marco DE BENITO

Marco de Benito is a full-time Professor at IE Law School and a Corresponding Fellow of the Spanish Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. His areas of interest include Legal History, Contracts, and International Litigation and Arbitration. He has been an Adjunct Professor at Comillas Pontifical University of Madrid and a Visiting Scholar at the Yale Law School (US) and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (DE). 

Prof. de Benito has practised law at Uría Menéndez, specialising in both commercial and investor-state international arbitration. He has counselled corporations in the oil and gas, electricity, engineering, and infrastructure sectors in arbitration proceedings seated in Madrid, Paris, Geneva, and Washington D.C., under the rules, amongst others, of the ICC and the ICSID. He publishes and speaks regularly on topics related to his fields of expertise.
