Alaine Agirre was born in Bermeo, a small fishing village on the coast of Bizkaia, in Spain but now lives in San Sebastian, where she spends her free time with her two greyhounds, her flute and her piano. Although she studied Physics and Basque Philology, she has always had a passion for writing, and that is what she mostly devotes herself to now. Six of her children’s books have been published within the last few years as well as two books of adult fiction – all written in her native Basque.
