(Mieres del Campo, Asturias, 1947). Composer and singer. In 2014 he celebrated 50 years in the music business and one of the most distinguished careers in the history of Spanish music. He has written hundreds of songs, and some of the most popular are El abuelo Vítor, Asturias, Quiero abrazarte tanto, Soy un corazón tendido al sol, Sólo pienso en ti, Qué te puedo dar, No sé por qué te quiero and España, camisa blanca. He is also a film director (Divinas palabras; El mar y el tiempo; Bajarse al moro; El vuelo de la paloma; Yo soy esa). In November 2015 he received, together with Ana Belén, a prize of honour at the Latin Grammys for his special contribution to the world of music, and he published a memoir: Antes de que sea tarde. In 2016 and 2017 together with Miguel Ríos, Ana Belén and Joan Manuel Serrat he performed El gusto es nuestro: 20 años después, a tour of Spain and Latin America.
