Daniel Fernández (Barcelona, 1961) is a publisher, a graduate in Hispanic Philology (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, 1984) with studies in the Administration of Cultural Organizations. After a period as Editor of the magazines Saber and L’Avenç, he was General Manager at Ediciones Grijalbo (1990-1993) and Literary Manager of the publishing group Grijalbo-Mondadori (1993-1995). For the last 20 years or more he has been Editor and CEO of EDHASA (Editora y Distribuidora Hispano Americana, S.A), a publisher that includes the Castalia Ediciones imprint. He is also the President of Ediciones Prensa Libre and contributes regularly to print media, radio and television. He has been the Chair of the Catalan Gremi d’Editors publishers’ organization and of the Spanish Federation of Publishers’ Organizations, and is currently the Chair of CEDRO (Spanish Centre for Reprographic Rights). He has also been on the boards of various companies and international publishing associations. He is a member of the Catalan branch of the Club of Rome.
