Who are the new storytellers?

Where is contemporary Latin-American literature headed? Who are the new storytellers? What news of the world do they have for us?

It is time that Latin-American literature, dissolved decades ago among dispersed national glories recovers that continental brilliance that it had in the 1960's and 1970's, and vibrates with the force of many combined talents. This is why Bogotá World Book Capital 2007 has united with the Hay Festival in order to bring together the most notorious 39 Latin-American authors under 39 years of age.

The meeting of these 39 authors is the result of an ample call to readers, publishers, literary agents, and authors all over Latin America to advise their own candidates. At the same time, the event will be a perfect occasion to read and debate over contemporary Latin-American narrative.
