Around the world in 80 trees
What a delight to be in a place where everyone loves books and everyone seems to be smiling!

The audience was really special - engaged, responsive and they asked some brilliant questions.

There was substantial interest in the hallucinogenic effects of various tree species, which one could regard as life-affirming or slightly alarming depending on your view of recreational drugs. One lady asked me why I'd made the point about support for the environment being non-party-political. My response about a divided world, united in it's love of trees, went down gratifyingly well.

At the pleasingly long signing queue a young boy asked the most brilliant penetrating questions - a reminder that science is all about discovery and that there's no such thing as a silly question.

And most of all, I enjoyed the sheer love in the room!
