Tibetan Monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery
Event 210 • Wednesday 27 May 2009, 9.00pm • Venue: Guardian Stage
The Power of Compassion
The sacred world of Tibet is filled with the chanting of Buddhist texts, the recitation of mantras, the ringing of bells, the clash of cymbals, the booming of the great long horns and the beating of drums. Eight Tibetan monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, founded by the first Dalai Lama in C15th, present a programme of sacred dances and music in magnificent costumes and masks.
