Sky
At Sky, we’re committed to tackling climate change, and in 2006, Sky became the world’s first Carbon Neutral media company. We’ve reduced our carbon emissions by 16% over the last four years, and purchase renewable energy for our UK-owned sites. We offset the unavoidable portion of our carbon footprint with quality, accredited offsets. This year, Sky will be implementing a number of measures to reduce the environmental impacts of Sky Arts at Hay. Examples include the use of a solar power generator to provide some of the power required on site, the use of LEDs for audience lighting and provision of the Sky Shuttle Bus Service to encourage festival-goers to reduce the use of their car.
Additionally, Sky have brought Global Action Plan, our environment partner, to the Festival – this year’s theme is sustainable transport so don’t forget to have a go on their Ecodriving Simulator which will show you how to save money and reduce your impacts on the environment. Not only this but if your mpg is the lowest, you could win a great prize. To find out more about how Sky is taking action on the environment, go to: www.sky.com/thebiggerpicture
