Kevin LeGendre illuminates the life and work of this brilliant saxophonist, hailed as the inheritor of Charlie Parker's mantle, with archive film and audio footage. Not only a member of one of Miles Davis' most revered bands and band leader in his own right, Cannonball's work with black civil rights activist Jesse Jackson has a topical poignancy at the start of Barak Obama's presidency.
