Femi Kuti cut his teeth in his father’s band back in the ’80s. Now with his sizzling fourteen-piece band straight from The Afrika Shrine, Lagos, he combines a red-hot mix of funk with raw hard-edged rhythms, the complexities of Miles/Gillespie-inspired brass and eye-poppingly seductive dancers – all in one awe-inspiring show. This performance will include songs from current album Africa for Africa along with signature tunes from recent years, and promises to be a spectacular finale to this year’s festival.
