The Scribblers Tour

Hay Festival is back on the road, thanks to Welsh Government funding, bringing the Scribblers Tour to schoolchildren across Wales. The tour will be hosted in five Welsh Universities.

We will be telling stories, asking questions and inspiring empathy and creativity through the power of writing.

We will also be starting conversations with young people to hear their voices and choices. Speakers and compères will spend time with the pupils, on and off the stage, to encourage these conversations throughout the tour.

Mae Gŵyl y Gelli’n mynd ar daith eto, diolch i nawdd gan Lywodraeth Cymru, a fydd yn galluogi plant ysgol ledled Cymru i fwynhau Taith y Sgriblwyr. Bydd digwyddiadau’r daith yn cael eu cynnal mewn pump o Brifysgolion Cymreig.

Byddwn yn adrodd straeon, yn gofyn cwestiynau ac yn ysbrydoli empathi a chreadigrwydd trwy gyfrwng ysgrifennu grymus.

Byddwn hefyd yn cychwyn sgyrsiau gyda phobl ifanc er mwyn gwrando ar eu lleisiau a’u dewisiadau. Bydd siaradwyr a chyflwynwyr yn treulio amser gyda’r disgyblion, ar y llwyfan ac oddi arno, ac yn annog y sgyrsiau hyn trwy gydol y daith.

I Feel At Home, Away From Home

Eric Ngalle Charles is a poet, author and playwright who has claimed asylum in Wales. Eric’s uplifting story describes how literature and creative writing helped him to overcome his hasty departure from Cameroon when he was 17, how he survived being a victim of human trafficking and living on the streets in Russia before eventually coming to live in Wales.

Mae Eric Ngalle Charles yn fardd, awdur a dramodydd a hawliodd loches yng Nghymru. Mae stori ddyrchafol Eric yn disgrifio sut y bu i lenyddiaeth ac ysgrifennu creadigol ei helpu ef i ddod dros y profiad o orfod gadael ei gartref yn Camerŵn ar frys a hynny pan oedd yn 17 oed; wedi gwneud hynny, cafodd brofiad uniongyrchol o fasnachu pobl ac o fyw ar y stryd yn Rwsia cyn dod yn y pen draw i Gymru i fyw.
