Live events for schools

The Scribblers Tour is back! In spring 2013 Hay Festival is running a tour of live events for schools in universities across Wales, focusing on literacy and creative writing.

The Scribblers Tour provides a FREE programme of writers and experts to develop students’ creative writing skills and broaden their horizons.

Focusing on literacy and the environment, a fantastic line-up of the best young people's writers visit universities across the country between February and April, where they run interactive sessions for KS3 and KS4 students from schools all over Wales.

‘I am chockablock full of ideas! It was really fun and a great experience, the perfect day!’ Year 7 student, Scribblers Tour Cardiff University

The Scribblers originated in 2008 as Hay Festival’s young writers group, benefiting from masterclasses by local writers. The group still meets weekly to discuss the week’s news and books and to create content for The Scribblers, a termly magazine published online and in print.
