We are delighted to announce the 2016 line-up of writers and performers taking part in our programme for schools.
Designed to inspire and enthuse all pupils at Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, the festival is free to all state schools as part of our commitment to young people and is funded by Hay Festival Educational Trust and the Welsh Government.
On Thursday 26 May (Key Stage 2) and Friday 27 (Key Stages 3 and 4), we will welcome thousands of children to our site. Pupils and teachers will have the chance to meet amazing writers from a wide range of fields – scientists, explorers, award-winning novelists and historians – and this year, when we are all celebrating Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary, the chance to work with the RSC.
Our festival has a fabulous bookshop where you can browse and buy, and all the authors’ books will be on sale. They will be on hand to sign books after their events, creating a wonderful opportunity for young people to meet and talk to the writers in our programme.
We look forward to welcoming you to an inspiring programme for schools at Hay Festival this May.
