Keeping it green

There is no getting away from the fact that you are the future. No pressure. But fear not, help is at hand. Here at Hay we love being the greenest we can possibly be and in order to do that we need everyone who attends to try their hardest too.

Being even a little bit green is pretty easy and we’ve popped a few ideas below to help you on your way.

• Arrive on a train!

  Grab your parents and come by train - there couldn’t be an easier way to be green. Once you hop off the train at Hereford we’ve set up a bus to run between Hereford Railway Station and Hay. It leaves every hour so you can get here easily and save driving.

• Look after your programme

  Treasure the programme we send you, then you’ll only need one and we can cut down on printing. Once the festival is over save it as a memento or chuck it in your recycling.

• Recycle

  Around the site we put a squillion labelled bins ready to receive your rubbish, making it super easy to recycle your plastics, cans and paper.
