La Linterna Cali is a letterpress printing workshop dedicated since 1934 to the millenary craft of handmade poster printing using the technique of linoleum engraving and movable type. In 2016 the workshop went through a severe economic crisis, which meant the imminent closure of the workshop and with it the possible disappearance of this traditional trade. However, in 2017, an enthusiastic group of cultural managers and graphic artists created a training strategy for new audiences that articulated the millenary knowledge of typographic printing and the expressions of current design and graphic art.
