Alejandra MOFFAT

Alejandra Moffat (Los Ángeles, Chile, 1982) is a novelist, screenwriter and dramatist. In 2011 she published El hacedor de camas, her first novel, followed by MAMBO (2022), shortlisted for the 2023 Best Books Prize granted by the Chilean Ministry of Culture and the Arts. She was also been recognised in relation to the Muestra Nacional de Dramaturgia de Chile on two occasions, with the works Buffalito que camina con jeans apretados y chaqueta de cuero (2005) and Recuerdos de cosas que duelen (2012). In recent years she has co-writed films that have been shown at Cannes, San Sebastian and the Berlinale. In 2024 she was awarded, together with Manuela Martelli, the Pedro Sienna Award for Best Screenplay, for 1976. She is currently working on productions from Spain, the Dominican Republic, Chile and Mexico.
