He’s reported from Zimbabwe to Afghanistan; every US Presidential election since 1980, including Obama’s impressive victory and inauguration in 2009/10; and every UK election since 1974. He’s interviewed Mandela, Gorbachev, Netanyahu, Ahmadinejad, Museveni and many other world leaders and still hopes to interview Madonna and Florence and the Machine. He’s been a Trustee of the Tate and national Galleries; he’s Chairman of the New Horizon Youth Centre in London; Deputy Chairman of the Media trust. He does water colours and plays the piano (both with indifferent results), in his spare time. His book ‘Shooting history’ was published in 2005.
