Ranulph Fiennes is the first in history to reach the world’s highest peak and to cross both the world’s ice caps. He has led over 30 expeditions. In l993 Her Majesty the Queen awarded Fiennes the Order of the British Empire (OBE) because, on the way to breaking records, he has raised over £10 million for charity. The book was finished at the Everest base camp.
