(Tenerife, 1947) Novelist, poet and TV, radio and newspaper journalist. His first novel, Tachero, earned the Premio Benito Pérez Armas, and established a trend for his career. He has received numerous awards, among them, the Premio Pérez Galdós, the Premio Europa en Salerno, the Ondas Nacional de Televisión, the Antena de Oro de la Asociación de profesionales de radio y televisión and the award Villa de Madrid de periodismo (Mesonero Romanos). The Guild of Librarians of the Region of Valencia made him an honorary librarian in 2010.
