(Lima, 1976) Writer, literary critic and cultural manager. She studied Literature at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and took her doctorate at the University of New York (NYU). She has edited the literary magazine Fuegos de Arena and she founded and manages Perufest, the first Peruvian film festival in New York. She edited the anthologies Escribir en Nueva York (2014) and Voces para Lilith (2011). Her stories have appeared in various international anthologies, such as: Basta. 100 mujeres contra la violencia de género (2012), Denominación de origen: Peru. Antología de cuento peruano (2014), 201. Lado B (2014), Al final de la batalla (2015), Solo cuento (2015) and Kafkaville (2015). She was included in the contemporary Peruvian literature section of the magazine Words Without Borders. Some of her work has been translated into English, German, French and Italian. La sangre de la aurora (2013) is her first novel; it won the 2014 Las Américas Novel Prize and has been published in English this year as Blood of the Dawn. She has received the Tumi USA Award for Professional Excellence. She has just published the short story collection Coordenadas temporales (2016). She currently lives in New York.
