(Arequipa, 1944) Journalist, art critic and cultural manager. Self-taught, he never finished his degree at the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín. He taught Art at the Escuela Superior de Arte Carlos Baca Flor and the Arequipa campus of the Universidad Tecnológica del Perù (UTP). Former head of writing at the Arequipa newspaper Correo, he edited the magazines Mural and La Razón. He has also edited various books and magazines. He has published Lectura de mano (poetry, 1999), Arequipa, el sueño del sillar (co-author, 2009) and Arequipa, un patrimonio construido (2015), both history books; and others about art and artists (A la altura de los niños, Ricardo Córdova/La luz visible, La ciudad de Lara, En el nombre del Raúl, del Juan y del Machaca de Aquino, La bohemia en Percy Herrera, Las alturas de Luis Solorio, Vida y Arte en Belén Salvatierra y Alberto Vega, Pulsiones en Ernesto del Carpio, He vivido un sueño, etc.), as well as newspaper articles. He is currently the director of the Arequipa Museum of Contemporary Art, a member of the International Council of Museums ICOM-Peru, editor of La Ciudad magazine on art, science and culture, columnist for La República, consultant for the Ediciones Coquito imprint, vice-chairman of the ASDEPROAR association for the conservation of Arequipa, and manager of La Ciudad Producciones E.I.R.L. He received the Medalla y Diploma de la Cultura award on two occasions (in 2005 as a cultural manager, in 2015 as a journalist), given by Arequipa Province.
