Writer and literary critic. He presented the Entre Libros programme on TV Peru until he gave up this position in 2017 following the pardon of the former head of state, Alberto Fujimori. His written works include Pequeña novela con cenizas (2015) and Orgullosamente solos (2016), for which the writer researched his own family history, and which aims to bring the past to light not as a symbol or for nostalgic reasons, but rather as the discovery of something that cannot be ignored. In his latest book, Con todo, contra todos (2018) Yrigoyen has carried out an encyclopaedic task: tell the story of 50 years of the Peruvian football team, a journey that has included three world cups, 11 qualifying stages and 16 Copas América. His poetry has been translated into English, Portuguese and Czech.
