(Cali) Fiction writer, literary translator and cultural journalist. He is the author of five books of short stories, and his work has appeared in short story anthologies and compilations in Colombia, Mexico, Spain, France and the United States. Between 1987 and 1997 he was head translator at the Valladolid International Film Festival and between 1990 and 1996 translated works by Mark Twain, Daniel Defoe, Herman Melville and others for the Anaya de Madrid publishing house. Translator of Richard II for the complete works of Shakespeare published in Spanish by Penguin Random House on the 400th anniversary of the dramatist’s death. Editor and translator for the anthology of stories by young US writers, Habrá una vez. From 2001 to 2011 he was an editor at the New York newspaper El Diario La Prensa and wrote articles for El Puente Latino.

He currently lives in Cali and works with a range of Colombian imprints, public libraries as well as the New York-based digital publishing company Restless Books. He is the current director of the Cali International Poetry Festival and the academic director of the library Biblioteca del Centenario.
