(Madrid, 1964) His texts have been included in the anthologies: Páginas amarillas (1997), Cien años de cuentos (1998), Los cuentos que cuentan (1998), Pequeñas resistencias (2002), Relato español actual (2003) and Qué me cuentas (2006). He has published the novels Seda salvaje (1995), Labia (2001) and La voz cantante (2004) and three short story collections: Velocidad de los jardines (1992), Parpadeos (2006) and Técnicas de iluminación (2013). 

He was shortlisted for the 13th Herralde Novel Prize for Seda salvaje, the Spanish Critics’ Prize and the Setenil Prize in 2014, and won the 2013 Tormenta Prize for best book of the year.

He contributes to Revista de Libros and El País, Público, Telva, Revista de Occidente and Turia. Since 2014 he has been publishing a monthly column entitled Vértigos in El Mundo’s El Cultural. 

He has given fiction workshops at different cultural centres, including La Casa Encendida, Hotel Kafka, Festival Eñe and the TAI University Arts Centre.
