Jean-Pierre Dozon (Paris 1948) is a Doctor of Anthropology, Emeritus Research Director at the French Institut de recherche pour le développement, Research Director at the L’École des hautes études en sciences sociales, vice-president of the Maison des Sciences Foundation in Paris, and an internationally-recognized specialist in the historical, political and cultural relations between France and Africa. Winner in 2004 of the French Academy’s prize for his book Frères et sujets. La France et l’Afrique en perspective. He is the author of over ten books, including the most recent Afrique en présences: du monde atlantique à la globalisation néolibérale (2015).
