(Colombia) A prominent anthropologist who has made great contributions to public environmental policy in Colombia and Latin America. An Anthropology graduate from the University of the Andes, magister in Environmental Education with a doctorate in American Anthropology from Madrid’s Universidad Complutense. He has been Head of the National and Natural Park Network for more than a decade, Director of the Bogota Environment Department’s IDEAM, and Vice-minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development. He has received various awards for his life in ecology, including the Dragón de Oro Medal and the Fred M. Packard International Parks Merit Award.
