We invite you to browse the programme of the seventh edition of the Hay Festival Queretaro, to be celebrated from 1-4 of September 2022. This year, we return with in person activities in the Hay Joven, Hay Festivalito, and Hay Delegaciones sections, and for the first time we present talks in the municipalities of Bernal, Corregidora, and Tequisquiapan.

The life of Alina changes drastically the day she receives some terrible news: Daniel, her best friend, has killed himself because of the bullying he was suffering. What is the worst? Nobody seems to care and Mauricio and his gang, the bullies of our story, go unpunished. Only Alina’s grandmother has an answer to her granddaughter’s concerns, when she tells her about a creature who can act as a defender, and she teaches her the recipe to create one, assisted by Lenny, her golem. At this event, we reflect together with Teresa Alcántara about of El extraño caso de Lenny Goleman, by author Liliana Blum, on this evil which affects so many young people, how to tackle it and, above all, how to bring justice in cases of bullying. The event will be moderated by Óscar Pedra Nieto.

Alberto Villarreal in conversation with Rodrigo Unda

Alberto Villarreal has been a booktuber for over nine years. His YouTube channel, AbriendoLibros, on which he talks about what he has read and his love for books, has over 243 thousand subscribers and his videos have been seen over nine million times. He is the author of the novel Ocho lugares que me recuerdan a ti (2016), and the poetry books Todo lo que fuimos (2017) and Todo lo que dejas cuando llegas y te vas (2020), as well as the collection of short stories Anoche en las trincheras (2018). At this event he will present his new poetry collection, Aquí no hay sed, in conversation with Rodrigo Unda, the creator of Cartas de un Lector.
