Europe is undergoing a period of profound redefinition. Amid rapid technological change, geopolitical tensions, and the transformation of liberal democracies, fundamental questions are resurfacing about identity, education, culture, and the very meaning of the European project. What values can sustain Europe today? How is the technological revolution shaping the way we think, learn, and live together? What remains of the European humanist ideal in an era marked by uncertainty and fragmentation? Peter Sloterdijk—undoubtedly one of the great living philosophers whose controversial views fuel essential debates— will engage in a dialogue with Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, president of IE University, on the major intellectual and cultural challenges of our time.
The discussion will begin with The Continent Without Qualities, Sloterdijk’s latest essay, a lucid reflection on Europe’s loss of political and spiritual horizon and on the tensions between technology, culture, and democracy in the 21st century. In the second part, three students from IE University’s European Union Club will join the conversation in an exercise in intergenerational dialogue that will highlight the voices of Young people and their role in building a shared future.

Cristina Mateo, Vice Dean of IE School of Architecture and Design and author of From The Office to Industry: How TV Series Anticipate the Future of Work, joins journalist and writer Rubén Amón to discuss how audiovisual storytelling reveals the profound transformations reshaping workplaces and society. Together they will explore the impact of artificial intelligence, changing organisational cultures, multigenerational workplaces, sustainability, and the evolving relationship between work, identity and community.

Beauty as a necessity. Starting from this premise, Anna Gener, an economist and a figure associated with numerous cultural projects, argues that the enjoyment of beauty is one of the fundamental pillars of our civilisation, as well as an essential element for emotional well-being. In this process, we become guardians of those works that deserve to be contemplated and enjoyed by every generation. In conversation with the writer and deputy editor of La Vanguardia, Miquel Molina, Gener will explore the beauty we can find in cities and the importance of devoting time and attention to it, whilst warning against an increasingly widespread tendency: prioritising the useful over the beautiful.

Pablo d’Ors in conversation with Fernando Rodríguez Lafuente

The priest, philosopher and theologian Pablo d’Ors believes that spirituality and meditation are spaces that fulfil us, allowing us to grasp the meaning of things, so that our gaze can escape the pressures of daily life and everything takes on a new beauty. This process is not a matter of conscious reflection; one simply has to let oneself be drawn into one’s inner self. D’Ors, founder of the Friends of the Desert meditation network, combines his pastoral work as a priest with a prolific literary output of spiritual content, with titles such as Biografía del silencio, that have had a huge international impact. In conversation with Fernando Rodríguez Lafuente.
