I was really excited to take part in an panel organised by the Institute of Welsh Affairs to discuss the role of Women in Public Life. The panel included some inspiring examples of brilliant women. We had differing perspectives of lots of things. Yet no-one interrupted anyone else or talked down the other participants - which isn't always my experience when taking part in other events, all-too-often as the 'token female'.
The theme of Hay this year is 'Imagine the World'. Our session tried to imagine a world in which women's voices and contributions are more fully recognised, and their problems taken more seriously. I think we came up with some practical ideas for that, and I hope we also inspired some me of the younger women there.
