Horizons Showcase: New Music From Wales

– BBC Tent

An evening of very special live and acoustic performances from:

H Hawkline
www.hhawkline.org

H Hawkline will perform songs from his latest album In The Pink Of Condition. Hawkline himself is referring to this new album as 'strange pop', informed by Richard Brautigan and Paul McCartney’s Ram, with Cate Le Bon handling production duties in Los Angeles.

Climbing Trees

Formed in the summer of 2011, this South Wales four-piece soon came to the attention of BBC Radio Wales with their distinctive 'Cymrucana' sound, gaining 'BBC Introducing Band of the Week', 'Artist of the Week' and 'Single of the Week' recognition along with playlisting throughout the station in 2013 during the run-up to the release of critically-acclaimed debut album Hebron.

The band was announced as one of twelve artists to take part in the inaugural year of Horizons.

Dan Bettridge
www.danbettridge.com

Dan Bettridge, at all of 21 years old, knows his Stax from his Motown, his Sun from his Chess Records, and understands that it’s all about singing straight from the middle of his own bruised heart. He’s a blue-eyed soul singer: Van Morrison, if he’d come from Ogmore-By-Sea in the Vale of Glamorgan. Dan is one of this year's selected Horizons twelve artists.

Delyth McClean
www.facebook.com/delyth.mclean

Delyth McLean’s soaring, elemental voice is one of the most affecting and impressive recent additions to the Welsh musical landscape. Delyth is a bilingual artist from Merthyr Tydfil and has supported the likes of Gruff Rhys, The People The Poet (Horizons 2014), Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog and Kizzy Crawford. Delyth is one of this year's selected Horizons twelve artists.
