Michelle Boyle and Thomas Pakenham

Artist Michelle Boyle details the creative process of painting Thomas Pakenham, historian, arborist and explorer. The portrait, commissioned to mark the sitter’s 80th year, was created over a period of six months and depicts the sitter in his ancestral home, Tullynally Castle. Thomas will join Michelle for a Q&A session and will speak of the experience of having his portrait painted – the highs and lows of sitting to mark one’s 80th year.
