Lee Maracle is a member of the Stó:lō nation whose territory is located in Canada. She is a poet and the author of a number of novels, short stories and non-fiction books in which her culture and traditions are represented. In 2016 she received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her work promoting writing among young aboriginals.
