Olivier Guez and François-Henri Désérable in conversation with Santiago Gamboa

Arequipa 2019,

The French writer and journalist Olivier Guez, contributor to major international publications such as The New York Times, Le Monde and Frankfurter Allgemeine, talks about his most recent novel, The Disappearance of Josef Mengele, which has won him the Renaudot Prize. The novel tells the life story of a man of great cruelty, one who was hunted and never found: the doctor of Auschwitz, Josef Mengele, now dead, from the Second World War to his flight into hiding in South America. The French writer François-Henri Désérable, author of the novels Muestra mi cabeza al pueblo and Évariste won, among others, the Amic de l’Académie française and Geneviève Moll biography prizes. In this conversation he explores the biography of Évariste Galois, a French mathematician who revolutionized algebra and died at age 20 from wounds suffered in a duel. In conversation with Santiago Gamboa.
